The University of Leicester has received £33,000 in funding from two Masonic charities for a cardiovascular research project. The Masonic Samaritan Fund and Freemasons’ Grand Charity made donations for the second year in a row to the DREAM (Daily Remote Ischaemic Conditioning Post-Acute Myocardial Infarction) study, which aims to harness a natural protective mechanism against heart attacks to treat cardiovascular patients.
