Lancaster scientists win £253k grant to research freshwater ecosystems

Scientist at Lancaster University have been awarded £253,000 to focus on the sources and fate of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus, three chemical elements found in lakes and rivers that are key to the functioning of life on earth.  Lancaster Environment Centre is part of a £2.9 million project looking at how the UK’s freshwater ecosystems are affected by human activity.
